Spencer, Nebraska Museum

The small house that was located near Joseph and Antonia's large house, was actually the original two room house that they lived in on the homestead.  That house was later taken off the place and was made part of the Frontier Acres Museum, located near Spencer, Nebraska. In fact, Joseph Pelc's two room house was the first building acquired by the museum. In time, the museum had seventeen buildings on five acres to depict over two hundred years of Nebraska and South Dakota history. The Boyd County District #24 schoolhouse was also located on the museum premisesWalter Pelc's wife [Jean (Velder) Pelc] attended this school as a child. The Frontier Acres Museum has since been closed and all belongings sold.
